Planners at Wolverhampton Council have given Mr G Singh retrospective planning permission for a one-bedroom flat which was added to the Goldthorn Pub without consent.

The flat was added, to provide living accommodation for staff, during a recent refurbishment of the former Goldthorn Social Club in Goldthorn Hill.

Planning officer Ragbir Sahota granted permission for the alteration to stand, saying it was clear that the flat was solely to provide living quarters for staff.

He said: "The proposal is considered acceptable as it is being used by the staff at the Goldthorn Pub only and has been conditioned to ensure that the building is used for this purpose only and not for any other use.

"The proposal is therefore considered to be acceptable and in accordance with approved policies in the development plan."
