Man found outside Warstones Library dies
A man has died after being found outside a library in Wolverhampton.
Emergency services were called to land next to Warstones Library, in the Warstones area, this morning.
Ambulance crews arrived at around 6.50am and helped treat a man found at the scene.
An area outside Warstones Library, off Warstones Drive and Pinfold Grove, between Merry Hill and Penn, was cordoned off.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said crews were called to reports of a patient in cardiac arrest.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended and on arrival discovered a man," he said.
"Sadly, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene."
Warstones Primary School said parents were made aware of an incident outside the school.
A nearby resident who wished to stay anonymous, said: "My wife saw that the area outside the library was cordoned off this morning.
"It's a shame."
A spokeswoman from the Warstones Health Centre said: "We open at 8.30am so I don't think any of the staff saw or heard anything.
"The cordon was on the opposite side of the library to us, so we couldn't see anything."
