Travellers return to playing fields in Penn
Travellers have set up camp on playing fields in Penn – just six months after a group was ejected from the same site.
Caravans moved onto Windsor Avenue Playing Fields last night, according to residents.
Around 10 moved on to the land initially with five more setting up today (thurs).
A resident of nearby Pinfold Lane said: "We think we'll be stuck with them for the weekend.
"I've had to take a day off work because I didn't want to leave my house.
"I feel a bit vulnerable and a bit unsafe seeing them parked right on my back fence.
"All the neighbours are concerned because you don't know what you'll be confronted with."
The previous encampment, in July, saw the playing fields dubbed 'a no go zone' – and rubbish dumped on the playing field when the group left.
