Travellers move on from tip site in Wolverhampton

A group of travellers who pitched up on a tip site in Wolverhampton have now moved on.

Wolverhampton Council said it received reports that around 10 vehicles had moved onto the Anchor Lane Household Waste and Recycling Centre site in Bilston on Saturday.

The council said it had worked with police and local businesses, and confirmed the group had now moved off the land.

A Wolverhampton Council spokesperson said: “The council was made aware of an unauthorised encampment on land at Anchor Lane tip and, working with police and local businesses, the group has now moved on.”
