Wolverhampton's poorest households will lose out on £500,000 worth of payments as a result of government cuts, say the city's Tories.

The opposition Conservative group has tabled a motion calling for Wolverhampton Council to condemn the Government's decision to cut the Household Support Fund by 11.9% from April 2025.

The scheme, introduced in 2019, distributes money to local authorities to help households struggling to cope with the rising costs of food, energy, and essential bills.
