Ramadan Radio Wolves ready for sixth year on the air
A community radio station celebrating Ramadan will soon start broadcasting in Wolverhampton.

Ramadan Radio Wolves, based in Wolverhampton, has been operating for five years and has now secured a sixth year where it will put on mixture of shows for people to enjoy throughout the religious festival.
Ramadan – the month of fasting – is expected to begin in five days on February 28, and end on Sunday, March 30.
People can tune into the religious station on frequency 87.8FM with a host of programmes aimed at the Muslim community.

The station manager, Alvina Ali, said: "You can tune in to us on 87.8FM during the month of Ramadan, we will be celebrating six years which I run alongside my wonderful team of volunteers.
"We are excited to bring fresh and engaging content to our listeners this year. Our new shows aim to reflect the diverse interests and needs of the Wolverhampton community, providing both education and entertainment during the holy month of Ramadan.
Khalid Parvez, Operational Manager, added: "The involvement of local volunteers and influencers enriches our programming and strengthens our connection with the community. We are proud to offer a platform that amplifies local voices and fosters a sense of unity."
Alvina said the response from Wolverhampton to the show has been 'overwhelmingly positive, and listeners appreciate a 'diverse range of programming'.

Alvina also credited the sense of community the station fosters as being one of the most rewarding aspects of the production.
She said: "One of the most rewarding aspects of running Ramadan Radio Wolves is witnessing the sense of community it fosters. Bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share their stories, talents, and insights creates a unique and enriching experience for both the presenters and the listeners.
"It's incredibly fulfilling to see how the station serves as a platform for education, inspiration, and connection, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan."
The radio station, which is run by volunteers, will feature children's shows, competitions, live debates, cookery and health programmes.
Alvina said: "The station's growing popularity is evident through increased engagement on our social media platforms and active participation during live shows.
"Our Facebook page, for instance, has garnered a significant number of followers, indicating a strong and supportive listener base. Additionally, the high volume of calls and messages we receive during broadcasts suggests a dedicated and expanding audience."
