Two-year-old Shih Tzu , Rex, ran into The Leaping Wolf in Wolverhampton in September last year, startling guests who quickly called manager Dan Morris, 33,  to see where the dog had come from.

After a short chase around the business Dan managed to gather Rex and run him to the nearest vets to find out if he was ok and where he needed to be returned too, but was shocked at what he was told.

He claimed the vet he spoke to informed him that Rex was the pet of an individual who had passed away following a car accident, leaving Rex with nowhere to go.

Refusing to let the poor pup find his own way, Dan adopted Rex and he has been living at the pub ever since, becoming a firm favourite among guests and a security guard who can 'sniff out the undesirables'.

Dan said the adorable little dog was only allowed on the bar for these photographs.

Speaking on the pub's latest extremely good boy, Dan said: "It was last year's Liverpool match, it was rammed inside and outside the bar. Everyone said there was a dog running around and we had no idea where he came from.
