Empty shelves at Wolverhampton Tesco after 'electrical fault'

Shoppers arrived at the Penn Road store this morning to find a number of large freezers empty and switched off although the store has remained open throughout the day.

Tesco bosses have since apologised after an electrical fault meant some of the freezers at its  Wolverhampton superstore were out of action so far today (November 20).

A Tesco spokesperson said: " We are working hard to fix the electrical issue impacting some of the freezers at our Wolverhampton Superstore.

"We have withdrawn some frozen food from sale, but will return the store to full availability in the coming days. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
