Fans of the Wolverhampton-born pop star have been leaving floral tributes around the statue of Lady Wulfruna, in front of St Peter's Collegiate Church since Liam's death on October 16.
But the memorial will be moved this Friday to make way for the Festival of Remembrance around Cheapside and Lich Gates on Sunday.
Wolverhampton Council has said the tributes will be "respectfully moved" to West Park on Friday morning.
A spokesman for the council said: "The tributes will be respectfully moved from the Lady Wulfruna statue to West Park on the morning of Friday, November 8.
"The memorial’s organiser has been informed, and we thank the community for their understanding and support during this time of Remembrance."
The One Direction singer and father-of-one, originally from Bushbury, died in Buenos Aires after falling from a third-floor balcony at the city's CasaSur Hotel.
People from around the world were left shocked and devastated at the news of the singer’s passing, including those in Wolverhampton, where the singer was born.
Eimear Mitchell, 26, of Birmingham, organised the impromptu memorial around the Lady Wulfruna statue.
"I think it is important that one of the first vigils be held was in his home city," she said.
"When I saw that there wasn’t one already planned, I knew that I had to do something. It would have been so meaningful to him.”
