Warinder Juss, Labour's parliamentary candidate for Wolverhampton West, backed calls by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, elected mayor for Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, and Scottish party leader Anas Sarwa in calling for an immediate end to fighting in the Gaza strip.

The Israeli government announced an invasion of the province, governed by terror group Hamas, following an attack on Israel on October 7, which saw the taking of about 200 hostages.

Mr Juss Hamas's actions, but said that Israel should also stop its hostilities immediately.

Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, has so far stopped short of making such demands, saying that Israel had the right to defend itself.
