The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Market Street, has severed arms, limbs and hands hanging from the roof as they prepare for one of the busiest weekends of the year.

Landlady Lisa Parsons, who has been in charge for nine years, has decked out the pub from top to bottom.

She said: "Halloween has got better and better at The Wheatsheaf since I have been here. Our staff love to dress up and who knows what our regulars will turn up as.

"This weekend we are having Halloween discos and parties to put a smile on people's faces."

The pub, which also doubles at the Wolves supporters HQ, will be packed before and after the Wolves v Newcastle game on Saturday.

Lisa said: "We are all hoping for a Wolves win on Saturday, however, we are playing Newcastle so fingers crossed the match will not be a real nightmare."

With spiders' webs, broomsticks and witches throughout the pub Lisa is determined not to be all partied out by Tuesday, October 31.

She said: "Our Halloween celebrations start on Friday, so it will be interesting to see who will still be up for a party on the actual night of Halloween."

Assistant manager Shelly Stevens said: "Everyone has worked so hard for the pub to look the part for Halloween, it was a real team effort!"
