By-election win for son of late Wolverhampton council leader
The son of the late Wolverhampton Council leader Ian Brookfield who died from cancer has won his father's seat following a by-election.
Labour's Paul Brookfield, aged 35, was declared the run away winner of the Bushbury South and Low Hill ward on Thursday with 686 votes.
Nearest rival Rob Williams for the Conservatives polled 256 votes, followed by Ian Jenkins for the Liberal Democrats who polled 139 votes, and Mohammed Naseem for the Greens with 78 votes.
Bilston south's Stephen Simkins is the new council leader following the death of Mr Brookfield in July, aged 57.
