One resident who lives in the area but wanted to remain anonymous said: "We have been told that we cannot drive out of the area, and you can tell something very serious has gone on just by seeing the faces of the police officers.
"A helicopter arrived to the scene right outside my flat and paramedics rushed out to the scene.
"Police have told us to stay in our homes and so all of us in the area are virtually blocked in.
"I have lived in Wolverhampton for seven years. First I lived in Heath Town but I witnessed a stabbing there and so I moved to this area as it is supposed to be a lot quieter but now this has happened.
