Jockey who broke his back at Wolverhampton Racecourse expected to make a full recovery
A jockey badly injured in a fall at Wolverhampton Racecourse is expected to make a full recovery, his wife has revealed.
Dane O’Neill suffered a fractured vertebrae and ribs in a fall at Dunstall Park on Tuesday evening.
The 45-year-old rider was taken to hospital after a fall from Eagle Eyed Tom in the opening race.
The gelding appeared to stumble and clip heels when leaving the stalls in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap, unseating him.
The race was abruptly stopped and voided, while O’Neill was attended to by paramedics on the track before being stretchered off and taken to hospital.
