In the recent batch of ratings handed out by the Food Standards Agency and authorities across the region, five food businesses were handed the worst possible rating of zero out of five.

One of the establishments that was handed a zero out of five rating was Lal Haveli, a restaurant and banqueting hall based on Bradford Street, Walsall - which has also been shortlisted for an award at the Asian Restaurant Awards, with the ceremony set to take place on Monday, July 31.

On a more positive note, 38 food businesses were rated five out of five.

The most recent rating must be displayed clearly by the business for customers to see. Five is considered 'very good', four 'good', three 'generally satisfactory', two 'some improvement necessary', one 'major improvement necessary', and zero 'urgent improvement required'.
