Lucy Fox, 38, of Bernard's Hill, Bridgnorth, is charged with murdering her mother Judith Fox.

She is also charged with arson and intent to endanger life.

The trial will start on July 19 at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, it was confirmed today.

Fox's mother, 65, known as Judy, went missing from her Shifnal home in June last year. Her remains were found the following month, in woodland next to the River Severn off The Lloyds at Coalport, near Ironbridge.

Fox, who is being assessed by psychiatrists to determine whether she is capable of standing trial, did not appear at a case management hearing at Stafford Crown Court.

Judge Kristina Montgomery QC said it was her understanding that "her treatment is certainly having some effect", but not enough so she would willingly participate in court proceedings.

A trial date last year was deferred so investigations could take place into Fox's mental health. Judge Montgomery extended Fox's custody time limit to July 23.

A further hearing will take place on April 12 at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to discuss Fox's ability to participate and how the trial will proceed.
