Man stabbed in Wolverhampton street fight
A man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in the Black Country.
Emergency services were called to Lime Street, in Wolverhampton, on Tuesday afternoon to reports of a fight between two men.
A man was treated for minor stab wounds to his neck and leg and cuts to his face and chest at the scene, before being taken to hospital. He was later arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.
West Midlands Police officers have launched an investigation and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
Nobody has been arrested and officers are still trying to trace a second man who is also believed to have injuries. A golf club is also understood to have been used as a weapon during the disorder.
Det Con Jemma Follows, from West Midlands Police CID, said: "We're still in the process of piecing together exactly what happened yesterday afternoon and to trace another man who we believe also suffered injuries.
"We have reviewed CCTV and there appears to have been a number of people in the area who saw what happened. We really need them to come forward to help our investigation."
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by police at 3:42pm on Tuesday to a stabbing in Lime Street, Wolverhampton. We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
"Crews treated one patient, a man, for minor injuries and he was conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”
