Wolverhampton house fire believed to have been started by stray firework
Emergency services were called to a house fire in Wolverhampton believed to have been caused by a firework.
Fire crews and police were alerted to the blaze at a home in Oakley Road in the Penn Fields area of the city.
Firefighters attended the scene at around 6.40pm on Saturday – believed to have been started from a stray firework.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were alerted to a fire at a house in Oakley Road, Wolverhampton at 7:10pm.
"It's thought that a firework from a nearby property accidentally hit the property."
