Two seriously injured in Wolverhampton crash
Two people were seriously injured in a car crash in Wolverhampton.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to the junction of Cartwright Road and Birmingham Road at about 8.30pm on Saturday.
Three people from one car had to be freed from the vehicle by firefighters, and the driver and one passenger, both men, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries.
A third passenger, a woman, was taken to New Cross Hospital with less serious injuries.
The occupants of the second car, a man, woman and boy, were all assessed but did not require hospital treatment.
Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to the junction of Cartwright Road and Birmingham Road in Wolverhampton at 8.31pm on Saturday to reports of a two-car road traffic collision.
"Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, the West Midlands CARE Team paramedics and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended.

"The three occupants of one car were all injured and ambulance staff worked closely with the fire service at the scene to extricate them from the vehicle.
"The driver and one passenger, both men, suffered serious injuries and required trauma care on scene from ambulance staff.
"They were both conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further trauma care. The second passenger, a woman, was given treatment on scene for less serious injuries before being taken to New Cross Hospital.
"The occupants of the second car, a man, woman and boy, were all assessed by ambulance staff but didn’t require hospital treatment."
West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service have been asked for a comment.
