Wolverhampton church celebrates 6,000 food parcels
A church has marked an impressive milestone after delivering more than 6,000 food parcels during the pandemic.

Excel Church, on Wolverhampton Street in Bilston, has marked the figure this weekend.
When coronavirus first hit the city, Excel quickly responded to the call from many vulnerable people in the community who were either shielding or in need of food parcels.
The church set up a foodbank and requests for parcels came flooding in from across the Black Country.
The project attracted a number of volunteers who quickly got to work packing boxes and distributing them across the region.
Councillor for Ettingshall, Beverley Momenabadi, and Wolverhampton South East MP Pat McFadden both joined the team.
They both thanked volunteers and organiser John Raj for their efforts.
Councillor Momenabadi said: “Amidst the tragic pandemic, there has been a light in the community here at Excel.
"I pay tribute to John and his amazing team of volunteers who have worked around the clock to support some of the most vulnerable people during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
"Wolverhampton is so diverse and Excel has gone to such an effort to make sure all of our diverse communities are catered for in a time of great need.”
Wolverhampton South East MP Pat McFadden added: “The volunteers at Excel Church have done an amazing job during lockdown.
"It has been a tremendous effort which has shown the best of the human spirit during a very tough time for the city.”
Excel are still planning to continue to support the community by offering food parcels for collection every Monday and hot food in the Church each Friday.
