Artwork showcases life in lockdown in Wolverhampton
More than 250 pieces of artwork showcasing life in lockdown have been submitted to an online exhibition in Wolverhampton.
A total of 161 people in Wolverhampton submitted various pieces of art – covering a range of themes – to Art in Lockdown.
It comes after leaders in the city invited people to submit their work, with the venture inspired by artist Ed Isaacs.
Councillor Ian Brookfield, leader of Wolverhampton Council, said: "I am absolutely overwhelmed by the response that we have had from the people of Wolverhampton and thank everyone who has submitted a piece.
"We have received a real mix of art work and hope everyone takes the time to view the exhibition online and relate to how the lockdown has inspired them."
More Covid-19 coverage:
Ed Isaacs, who is based in Wolverhampton, has been capturing scenes from his immediate surroundings which he has shared across social media.
A selection of the work, submitted by people who live, work or study in the city, has been split into nine categories – 3D and mixed media, abstract, figures, natural world, portraits, series and sequences, still life, urban landscape interiors and words and music.
The number of categories show that lockdown has affected individuals and households in a range of different ways.
Chiefs at Wolverhampton Council hope to host the exhibition at one of its venues after lockdown is lifted and the city's cultural venues are open.
