Louis Johnson, 13, had been due to walk from Tettenhall to the hospital in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity on April 11.

Louis, from Tettenhall, who has raised more than £21,000 for various charities, now hopes to carry out the walk later in the year.

His mother, Teresa, said: "Louis has had to postpone his walk on April 11 from Tettenhall to Birmingham Children's Hospital due to coronavirus.

"He is determined to do it before the end of the year.

"This walk would of got him to £10,000 raised for Birmingham Children's Hospital as he is only £400 short of the £10,000 target – so he his determined to hit that target by the end of this year.

"He wants to thank all his supporters."

In April last year, Louis was named as one of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s Hundred Heroes – in recognition for raising more than £6,000 for the charity.

In December, he was named on of the charity’s ambassadors. Louis has now raised more than £21,000 in total for a number of different charities.
