Mander Centre play area proving popular
A new play area inside the Mander Centre is proving a hit.
The soft play area on the ground floor of the shopping centre has a range of padded play items for children up to the age of nine to be let loose on.
Sam Longden, from Willenhall, is the mother of one-year-old daughter Evie, who was among those giving it a test run this week.
She said it was something which was good for all ages.
She said: "I think it's really good and really helpful when you've got kids and you're trying to shop as it breaks up the day a little bit and helps them burn off a bit of energy.
"I think the Mander Centre can do more to get people to come here by providing more things like this.
"It would be helpful to have something a little bit bigger with more space.
"Obviously with the big age difference and the small ones crawling and the older ones running about, that might be better and it might appeal to more families."
The play area has proved to be a popular area for all generations as a place to rest during shopping at the centre.
John Corbett, from Sedgley, was at the area with his wife Susan and his grandchildren four-year-old Liam and nine-year-old Brandon.
He thought the play area was good for the children, but the centre could also do more for them.
He said: "My grandchildren like it and are playing on it, so I do think it's a good thing to have them inside as it's a lot safer.
"While there's plenty of activity, I think the Mander Centre can do more to bring people in, like more toy shops.
"The Mander Centre is becoming a more welcoming place to be through things like this, more car parking spaces and becoming a more 21st century building."
