Applicants Hazara Holdings Ltd said the offices in Chanan House in Dudley Road have been empty for a number of months and believe creating four flats in their place will be a boost to the area.

And their proposal has found favour with Wolverhampton Council planning officers, who have agreed to allow the development to take place.

Each apartment, which will be situated on the first floor of the building, will have one bedroom while existing car parking spaces serving the premises will be allocated to the occupants.

Agent Andy Law said: “The first floor was previously used as office space which has been vacant for the past few months.

“The company employed eight full-time staff until they ceased trading leaving the office space vacant.

“A privately owned car park is to the rear of the building which has allocated parking for the commercial units to the ground floor and office space on the first floor.

“The car park is line marked and provides parking for seven vehicles. In addition street parking is available nearby.

“The existing car park would be sub divided with one space allocated to each apartment. Street parking is available nearby and public car parks.

“Immediately to the front of the property is a bus stop which provides transport into the city centre and into Dudley town centre.

“The site is within easy walking distance to supermarkets on the opposite side of the ring road, Fighting Cox which is busy local centre, St Johns Retail Park and the city centre.

“The development will appeal to residents who don’t have access to vehicles as all local amenities are within walking distance or via public transport.”
