Firefighters spend eight hours at Wolverhampton industrial yard blaze

Firefighters tackled a large rubbish fire at an industrial yard in Wolverhampton overnight.

Three fire crews were sent to the Chillington Works Industrial Estate in Cross Street just before 2am and spent more than eight hours tackling the blaze.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "They were called to a large rubbish and waste material fire in a skip inside an industrial yard."

The fire service could not yet say what the cause of the fire was.

The stop message was received at 10.30am.
