£8,000+ raised for The Way as the Tour De Youth Zones comes to Wolverhampton
Supporters of youth clubs across the country have got on their bikes, cycling from Carlisle to Croydon to raise funds.

Vincent Fairclough, a trustee of The Way Youth Zone, took part in the ‘Tour De Youth Zones’ to support the Wolverhampton centre.
He said: “The Way is the most wonderful facility and it has support and encouragement for the young people of Wolverhampton, it gives them somewhere safe to go, someone kind to talk to and something positive to do.
"They have fabulous staff who put in a lot time to support the children, I thought if I could do a little something to raise some money for the facility then that’s great.”

So far Vincent has raised £8,077 to contribute to the running costs of The Way.
The challenge was created by Onside, the National Youth Zone Charity at the beginning of the year as a way to raise much needed funds for all the centres across the country.
Staff, patrons and trustees of the youth services cycled over 450 miles in five days visiting each youth zone on the way.
When the cyclists reach each of the youth centres they will pass on their baton, created by youngsters who use the facilities, with the Wolverhampton baton representing a wolf to represent the city.

Young people and staff from The Way were there to cheer the riders on as they arrived in the city.
Carla Priddon, CEO of The Way, said: “Tour De Youth Zones is a fantastic opportunity for our most committed supporters to cycle the length of England to raise money for Wolverhampton’s young people.
"Vincent Fairclough, our cyclist is a committed board member, who has been passionate and dedicated to The Way since before it was even built.
"This demonstrates how far he is willing to go so young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
"We are all behind him as he embarks on this physical challenge.”
