It’s all smiles from five generations
A Wolverhampton family has been celebrating the arrival of the latest female member of the family.
Esmae Reade was born three weeks ago at New Cross Hospital, meaning her family now has five generations of women still living.
Esmae is the daughter of Ellie Burns, who wanted to bring her family together to create a lasting memory for Esmae of the women in her life.
She said: "It's amazing to have Esmae and I really wanted to do something that she can look back on and see her grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother together.
"Its really great for the whole family to be able to have this moment together as we are very close and I don't know of many other families with five generations of women in it."
The celebration brought together 23-year-old Ellie, her 50-year-old mother and Esmae's grandmother Sarah Burns, 69-year-old Patricia Fullwood, who is Esmae's great-grandmother and Lilla Williams, Esmae's 94-year-old great-great-grandmother.
Ellie spoke about her hopes for the future for Esmae, who has received presents and gifts from family and well-wishers at their home in Wood Hayes.
She said: "I would like my daughter to be happy and healthy and live a good life.
"I didn't know what I was having until she was born and, to be honest, I thought I was carrying a boy, but she means the world to me."
