Members of the Fostering for Wolverhampton team will be meeting people during this year's Wolverhampton Residents Programme.

The fourth Residents Programme will run throughout March, with drop-in events being held to help people.

Visitors can learn about apprenticeships, saving money on energy bills and how to cook more healthily and cheaply.

Councillor Roger Lawrence, leader of Wolverhampton Council, said: "Supporting residents into jobs and apprenticeships, providing opportunities for people to learn and develop their skills and improving the health and wellbeing of local people are top priorities for the city.

"Dozens of organisations have come together for the 2019 Residents Programme which runs throughout March, bringing free events to residents that showcase the services and support which are available all year round.”

The programme starts at the Mander Centre on Friday and Saturday, with love learning activities, between 10am to 3pm.

Visitors will be able to have a go at speaking Spanish, try out British Sign Language, or have fun creating music or learning basic first aid.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' mascot Wolfie will also make a special appearance.

Ian Darch, chief executive at Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council, said: "Wolverhampton has so much to offer. it's a great place to live, learn and work and there is a fantastic range of organisations here to support residents to reach their potential.

"Together, partners across the city have arranged a wide-ranging programme of events to help residents into work, including starting their own business, to maintain their health and wellbeing, and to develop their skills and knowledge."
