Men deny murdering father-of-four Richard Helm in Wolverhampton
Two men have denied murdering father-of-four Richard Helm.
Danny Cooper and Ashley Wilson both pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Helm, who was stabbed to death in Ashmore Park, when they appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court today.
Cooper, 31, of Maytree Close in Chelmsley Wood, pleaded guilty to two counts of damaging property and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. However, he denied a charge of arson.
Wilson, 27, of Guernsey Drive in Solihull, also pleaded not guilty to two counts of damaging property and one count of arson.
Mr Helm was stabbed to death in Raven Crescent, Ashmore Park, during the early hours of October 12.
A post-mortem examination confirmed he died of a stab injury.
Following his death, his family said: "Richard was a loving son, husband and father to four young children.
"He has been taken from us too soon. We love and deeply miss him so much."
The judge, Mr Justice Jeremy Baker, remanded both defendants in custody. Cooper and Wilson will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 11, with a provisional trial date listed as April 23.
