Drivers faced rush hour delays in Wolverhampton after crashes on the city's roads.

A man was taken to New Cross Hospital after suffering injuries in a two-car crash at the junction of Thompson Avenue and Dixon Street.

The crash, which was reported at about 7.30am on Monday, involved a silver saloon car and silver Mini Cooper.

The man was treated by paramedics for chest pain and arm pain.

A second patient suffered minor injuries and was discharged at the scene.

Elsewhere in the city, on the A454 Willenhall Road, two cars collided – blocking the right-hand lane of the dual carriageway.

An ambulance came across the incident when it was passing by and staff treated one patient with minor injuries.

They did not require hospital treatment.

Emergency services were called at about 8.55am.
