The Jimmy Trims Cutty Cup – hosted by the barbershop chain that has salons around the Black Country – kicks off on July 15.

The event – now in its sixth year – is aiming to raise £2,000 for Compton Care and teams are being encouraged to sign up to take part now for £35 per team. The tournament will take place on the morning of July 15 at 442 arena, Noose Lane, Willenhall, ahead of the World Cup final later that day. There will be a group format before a knockout stage. Mimzy Khatkar, from Jimmy Trims barbershops, said that he and business partner Ian Matto are looking forward to the event, he said: “Ian and I have always been massive football fans and we love putting this tournament on for the community."

Barclays bank, which is helping to organise the event, are also matching the money raised ‘pound for pound’, doubling any money the event pulls in.

“We’re looking to raise between £800-£1000 and then you have Barclays matching it pound for pound on top of that, so we’re really happy with the money we’re aiming to raise,” Mims added.

All teams are welcome to join the event with a £35 per team entry cost.

“The football is at a good standard and its all played for fun but of course there is a competitiveness to it.” Mims said. .”
