A crowd gathers after the disorder in Wolverhampton city centre

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene in Queen Street after the disorder happened during a busy Thursday lunchtime.

A shocked crowd gathered as police apprehended a man on the floor next to the Wolverhampton Homes centre on the corner of Market Street.

Around a dozen officers, including several in plain clothes, rushed to the scene on foot and in vehicles with blue lights flashing.

The woman, aged 31, and the 40-year-old man were both taken into custody on suspicion of assault.
