Police step up patrols over beggars 'harassing' shoppers outside Aldi supermarket
Police are stepping up patrols to clamp down on the number of beggars congregating outside a city supermarket after reports that they have been abusive towards shoppers.
Beggars have been reported as 'harassing' members of the public and staff who work at the Aldi supermarket based on Mercury Drive, just off the A449 Stafford Road in Wolverhampton.
A number of individuals have also been reported as being 'verbally abusive' to people after they refused to give them money.
The police is now working to identify the number of males responsible.
Officers are also working with Wolverhampton Homes' anti-social behaviour (ASB) team to address the issue.
