The South Staffordshire Operatic Company will tackle Monty Python's hit musical comedy Spamalot in a side-step from the traditional dramas and musicals usually performed by the group.

The group will take to the stage at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre between October 10 and 14.

Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and includes the classic comedy song Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.

Company chairman Alison Norton said: "Spamalot is a complete comedy so it is a lot of fun in rehearsals.

"It isn't as glamorous as what we would usually do but we are having such a good time in rehearsals.

"It is something a bit different for us but we want to showcase our versatility.

"It will be an absolute delight to perform and we can't wait to get on stage."

Tickets for Spamalot at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre are now on sale in person at the venues box office, by calling 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.
