Woman robbed near Priestfield tram stop in Wolverhampton

A woman was robbed on a footpath near a tram stop in Wolverhampton.

British Transport Police have launched an appeal after the incident.

Officers said at around 2.10pm last Tuesday, a 25-year-old woman was walking along a footpath leading to Priestfield tram stop from George Street.

She felt a tug on her handbag and realised a man was trying to pull it from her.

A second man also grabbed her rucksack and shoved the victim. Both men then ran away.

A number of personal items of financial and sentimental value were taken. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.

The first offender is a black man, aged in his early twenties, 5ft 9in to 5 ft 10in, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a blue hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The second offender was a black man, aged in his early 20s, 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in.

He was wearing an off-white tracksuit top, light-coloured tracksuit bottoms and carrying a white bandana with a purple pattern.
