One Direction star Liam Payne urged to make son Bear a West Bromwich Albion fan
West Bromwich Albion have launched a cheeky bid to snap up a new supporter - Liam Payne's baby boy.
The Baggies urged the One Direction star to make sure he puts his son Bear 'in the right stripes' over partner Cheryl's hometown team Newcastle United.
The club wasted little time wading into a potentially tricky subject between the pair, posting a picture on Twitter of a baby-sized Albion shirt featuring the name Bear and a number one.
Liam, 23, is from Wolverhampton but is an Albion fan.
The tweet from West Brom's official account said: "Congratulations, @LiamPayne!
"Don't listen to @CherylOfficial. Make sure you put him in the right stripes... #WBA"
It came after the superstar couple announced the name of their son five weeks after his birth.
The couple have been keeping a low profile since their first child was born.
Shortly after he arrived they both shared an image on social media showing Liam cradling their baby.
