Anthony Kinsey, aged 33, from Willenhall, is hoping to raise £1,000 for Crohn’s & Colitis UK by cycling the stretch in 30 days.

To complete the challenge, Anthony needs to cycle at least 34 miles per day.

If he manages to double his target, the keen cyclist has said he will ride more than 150 miles in one day from his home to Chester and back again.

Anthony, who works in events, said: "In February I was 24-and-a-half stone, I started to lose weight and have already lost eight-and-a-half stone.

"I was going to the gym but as they closed due to lockdown I got into bike riding.

"As all the events I had planned for work had been cancelled I thought I would do something good with my time."

The charity is close to Anthony and his partner Tammy's hearts as she and her family members suffer from Crohn's and Colitis.

Anthony said: "Many are still unaware of what these diseases are. There are no cures right now, just treatments to try and slow down the diseases and ease their pain.

"Tammy is over the moon, she is really proud of me and her family keep thanking me too.

"I'm hoping to raise £1,000 but any more would be great, and I have said if we can double it I will ride to Chester and back."

He started the challenge on June 15 and is due to finish in July, he is tracking his progress using app Strava and sharing his journey on his Just Giving page.
