Burglars target not-for-profit cafe in Walsall
A car smashed into a cafe window in an attempted burglary in Willenhall.
The vehicle was driven into the not-for-profit cafe, Living Water, on Stafford Street at 3.30am yesterday (December 27) in order to gain access.
Volunteers who run the Christian shop found the front was badly damaged but nothing was stolen.
Walsall councillor Diane Coughlan said: "It is really sad because they are a not-for-profit organisation and it is a lovely little shop entirely run by volunteers.
"This is the second incident recently and something needs to be done."
During the early hours of Boxing Day, the Spar in Wolverhampton West Road was targeted but nothing was stolen again.
A police spokeswoman said: "Enquiries are on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote crime number 20WS/279010U/17."
