Car flips into Pelsall house in dramatic crash

The crash took place in Fordbrook Lane, Pelsall, Walsall, in the early hours of Wednesday.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has since been released while police enquiries continue.

Two occupants from the house were assessed by paramedics but discharged at the scene.

Two others cars were damaged in the incident.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police are investigating after a car hit a house in Ford Brook Lane in the Pelsall area of Walsall just before 1am.

"Fortunately there were no injuries and a 21-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, has been released while enquiries continue."

West Midlands Fire Service sent two fire engines totalling 10 firefighters to the scene.

A fire service spokesman said: "We were called at 12.45am to an incident involving a car in collision with a house.

"Our crews assessed the building for structural damage and fortunately there didn't appear to be any damage.

"The police arranged for the recovery of the vehicle and we assisted with the recovery.

"There were two other vehicles damaged in the incident."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 12.43am to reports of a car that had crashed into a house in Fordbrook Lane.

"We assessed two patients who were from the house but they were discharged at the scene."

One eyewitness, taking to social media, said: “How they have managed to crash like this, I do not know. But from the blood-curdling sound and screech of brakes, I would say something was wrong.

“So lucky nobody was hurt. I would not like this to be my lounge window.”
