Teenage driver seriously injured in Darlaston crash
A teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Darlaston.
Three ambulances and a paramedic officer were called to the junction of Willenhall Road and Queen Street just after 9pm last night.
A teenage driver was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and a passenger in his car was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Walsall Manor Hospital as a precaution.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene crews discovered two cars that had been in collision, one with front-end damage and one with rear-end damage.
“From the car with rear-end damage, a teenage male, who was the driver, was treated for serious injuries at the scene before being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on blue lights and sirens.
“The passenger, also a teenage male, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Walsall Manor Hospital as a precaution.
“From the other car, the driver, a man, was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.”
A spokeswoman for West Midland Police said: "Police were alerted to a collision involving two cars in Darlaston, Walsall at around 9pm last night.
"A Vauxhall Vectra was involved in a collision with an Audi A1 on Willenhall Road at the junction with Queen Street.
"The 26-year-old Vauxhall driver was taken to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
"The driver of the Audi A1, aged 18, stayed at the scene and was spoken to by officers. Enquiries are on-going.
