Man taken to hospital after Brownhills crash

A man has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a fence in Brownhills.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the scene in Lichfield Road last night. Aldridge Fire tweeted saying: "Green Watch along with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service (Chase Terrace) have attended a RTC on Lichfield Road, Brownhills.

"Extricating one male who has now been relayed to hospital by paramedics, suffering a suspected spinal injury."

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 7.58pm to reports of a car that had crashed into a fence on Lichfield Road, Brownhills.

"We sent one ambulance to the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the driver of the car. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment."

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We got a call at 7.56pm yesterday to a car into the side of a property with one person in the vehicle.

"The crew got to the scene in under five minutes.

"The stop message came through at 8.50pm. It involved a car which had left the road and crashed into garden fence panels.

"Crews stabilised a vehicle, we removed one man from the vehicle."
