The woman, in her 40s, was injured when she pulled out of her Nissan Juke after pulling onto the drive of a house she was visiting on December 28.

She had her arm broken and suffered injuries to her face as she was dragged along while hanging onto the driver's door as the carjacker drove off along Stoney Lane in Bloxwich.

The car was recovered days later and officers arrested local man Craig Lewis, who has now been charged.

The 36-year-old from Green Lane, Walsall, appeared before the town's magistrates court on Saturday charged with robbery and two unrelated burglaries.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 3.
