Man stabbed 'on doorstep by bogus parcel courier' in attack
A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed on his front doorstep in Walsall allegedly by someone pretending to deliver a parcel.
Police were called to a house in Valley Road, Bloxwich, just before 5pm on Saturday.
The 30-year-old man suffered a wound to his arm, was treated in hospital and discharged.
One neighbour reported that the attacked had been acting as a parcel courier and was pretending to deliver a parcel.
In a post on social media the neighbour said: "A man acting as a parcel courier: in a high vis jacket stabbed a young man on his own doorstep in a sporadic attack, after pretending he had a parcel for a neighbour.
"He asked for a house number then pretended to walk away when it was believed to be the wrong house, before then allowing himself running space to storm the front door.
"The man was stabbed in his back before he could close the front door in Valley Road, Walsall.
"Thankfully the victim has survived the knife attack, that just missed his lung, but is of course sore and very traumatised.
"Please share this post to raise awareness and to ensure high vigilance at a time that should be celebratory."
