Woman killed in Walsall crash on Chester Road

A woman has died after a horror crash near Walsall.

A car crashed into a wall on the A452 Chester Road, at Stonnall, close to Stonnall Service Station, at around 10.20pm on Thursday.

A woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Staffordshire & West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.

The family of the woman, who has yet to be formally identified, have been notified and are currently being supported by specially-trained officers.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival ambulance staff found a car that had suffered significant damage.

“The woman driving the vehicle had suffered very serious injuries and unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the West Midlands CARE team were sent to the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage or may have witnessed the vehicle the woman was travelling in, a black BMW, is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 894 of 28 September.
