'Stolen' car wedged between walls in crash after suspected burglaries

A car which was wrecked after becoming wedged between walls was suspected to be stolen and used in burglaries.

Suspected offenders made off through a back garden of a home after the crash on Monday evening.

West Midlands Fire Service got to the house, in Little Aston Road, at 7.30pm to find a blue car had been wedged between two walls.

It is the same car that is believed to have been used in burglaries around Sutton Coldfield and Stonnall.

There is extensive damage to the front of the car while the back two wheels were being held off the floor by the back wall.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "Around 7.20pm yesterday on January 8, we were called to a report one vehicle road traffic collision Little Aston Lane following burglaries.

"The vehicle is believed to be stolen recently and it is possible offenders made off through the rear garden."

Crews from Sutton Coldfield attended and tweeted: 'Red watch attend a car wedged in a garden wall.

"Car is believed to be used in burglaries around the Sutton Coldfield/Stonnall area. Any further info please contact @StaffsPolice #jesip #notjustfires'
