Former Walsall Council building sells for £250k - as authority raises over half a million at auction
A former office building for Walsall Council has sold for nearly £250,000 at a property auction.

The office and shop unit at Jerome Chambers on Bridge Street was listed with a guide price of £90,000 when it originally went up for auction in December, but sold for £243,000 at a property auction held last week (March 27).
A vacant former spiritualist church on Caldmore Road also netted Walsall Council £290,000 in the same auction.
Meanwhile, Birmingham City Council raised £1,908,000 from the sale of six properties, and a parcel of land at 44-48 Showell Road was also sold for £67,000 on behalf of City of Wolverhampton Council.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said demand for property across the board remained "very strong" with total sales in the auction topping £26 million – up £4.5 million from the firm's February sale.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “Our results reflect the demand for property, solid, tangible investments, in the current climate.
“It’s interesting to note that we saw a significant increase in website page views from our February auction, due to increased press coverage and from enhanced online presence on social media and search.”
