Walsall hospice patients to get gifts on Christmas Day thanks to donation from town company
Patients in a Walsall hospice will all receive a gift bag on Christmas Day thanks to a generous donation from a family IT business.
Amrik Singh, director of Vibrant Networks, and his family presented the gifts to Deborah Jones, Ward Manager at Goscote Hospice, ready for patients on the big day.
The bags contain a cosy blanket, bauble, shortbread, chocolate orange, snow globe, mug and other goodies.
Deborah said: “We are a 12 bedded unit so could have up to 12 patients on Christmas Day.
“Where we can, we try and get patients home but if this is not possible, we make sure they have a special day with us.
“Families are invited to join in the festivities, Santa often comes to visit and there really is a lovely atmosphere.
“All patients and staff have a proper Christmas dinner and buffet evening meal. Staff wear something Christmassy and being able to give these gifts out is really the icing on the cake.
“We are so grateful to Amrik and Vibrant Networks for this incredible donation.
"They donated gifts last year as well and they went down so well so we are thrilled we can give out gifts again.”
Vibrant Networks also recently supplied 100 Santa packs, mugs, hats and materials for 100 children at the Manor Hospital in Walsall to take part in a paediatric extravaganza at the start of the
Christmas celebrations.
Mr Sing said: “We wanted to do our bit in the community and show our girls, Amaya, four, and Amanat, seven, that Christmas is about giving as well as receiving presents.
“We are a Walsall-based company so supporting our local hospital charity Well Wishers is so important to us.”
Georgie Westley, dundraising manager for Well Wishers, said: “Amrik and Amber are part of a charity support group for local businesses and always come forward to support when requests go out. It’s a pleasure to work alongside such a caring family run business and I would like to thank them once again for their support with the hospice presents for patients’ appeal.”
