Man rushed to hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' after being hit by a car in Walsall
A man was rushed to hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' after being hit by a car in Walsall this morning.
The ambulance service was called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Upper Rushall Street and Ablewell Street at 8.20am (Tuesday).
An ambulance and the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.
The pedestrian, a man, was treated by medics for potentially life changing injuries and conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police also attended and has appealed for information.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Upper Rushall Street and Ablewell Street in Walsall at 8.20am. An ambulance and the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.
"The pedestrian, a man, was treated by medics for potentially life changing injuries and conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Upper Rushall Street at around 8.25am. A man has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
