The tributes were still being laid two days after the attack

The scene on Main Street in Stonnall was a sombre one on Saturday morning near where Ian Price was attacked by the dogs on Thursday. Mr Price was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Floral tributes were left in two places in the centre of the village, as well as a large Aston Villa flag, while a sole policeman and police car could be seen outside a house on the street.

It may have been two days since the attack, which saw a 30-year old man arrested on suspicion of being in charge of dogs dangerously out of control and manslaughter, but the feelings were still visible from people walking around the area.

There was also mixed feelings about news of a planned ban on XL bully dogs, with some people happy to see it happen and others questioning how such a ban would actually work.

One person, who asked not to be named, said he had seen Mr Price around a lot and was still taking in what had happened.

He said: "I knew him reasonably well, saw him around the village a lot and he seemed like a nice person, so I'm struggling to take in what's happened to him and I feel bad for his family.
