The residents have registered their objections to the planned building on Little Aston Road

Developer Mr M Carr, of Levison Rose Homes Ltd, wants to demolish and replace existing proprieties at 25 and 27 Little Aston Road in Aldridge which the applicant claimed is not in the town's conservation area.

But angry neighbours claim the development will in effect result in a new cul-de-sac being created down the side of another house in the street and trees chopped down, spoiling the street's character.

Walsall Council previously granted permission for a pine tree subject to a tree preservation order to be felled at the site.

If the latest proposal is given the go-ahead two occupied houses will be replaced by four four-bedroomed detached houses, two three-bedroomed bungalows, driveways, landscaping and parking spaces increased from seven to 14.

The application site relates to nos.25 and 27 Little Aston Road, both of which would be demolished to facilitate development. Photo: Vista planning
